Description
The EWTh-2 electrode with higher thoria content offers more significant improvements in operating characteristics compared to those with lower content.
- Extra thoria boosts the current carrying capacity by about 20 percent.
- For AC welding, you can achieve balling by first welding with DC electrode positive before switching to AC.
- During AC welding, the balled end won't melt, but the emission isn't as good as that from a liquid ball on an EWP.
- Size: .40 - 5/32'

Using these Blue Demon 2% Thoriated Tungsten electrodes is easy. First, if you're doing AC welding, start by welding with DC electrode positive to achieve balling, then switch to AC. Remember, due to the extra thoria, these electrodes have about 20 percent higher current - carrying capacity, so you can handle more power. When it comes to maintenance, keep them in a dry place to prevent any damage. Also, note that during AC welding, the balled end won't melt, and the emission might not be as great as an EWP. These electrodes come in a size of .40 - 5/32'. Always follow safety procedures while using them.
